VISION FOR DISCIPLESHIP

It is our vision to empower all people at American Reformed Church to grow in intentional faith development through knowing the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and through knowing others in the community of faith.

KIDS

NURSERY
Sundays 9:30-11:30 am

In a room just outside the sanctuary, nursery care is available 9:30-11:30 am for children from birth through 4 years of age. We provide a safe and caring environment for the youngest among us to play and explore at church.

CHILDREN AND WORSHIP
Sundays 10:45-11:30 am

Children & Worship is offered during the Sunday school hour for children 4 years old through 1st grade. All children (except for those in nursery!) remain in the sanctuary for Sunday morning worship. We value the playful, wondering, storytelling nature of Children & Worship and find it valuable not only for the children but for all those involved. Children & Worship provides a safe and engaging space for your child to listen to God’s story, wonder together, and respond through play.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sundays 10:45-11:30 am

Sunday School is an opportunity for children and youth in 2nd grade through 5th grade to listen to God’s story, learn about who God is, live in community, and love God and one another alongside their peers every week. Kids’ Sunday school classes are found on the lower level following the Sunday morning worship service.

F3 — FUEL FOR FAITH
Wednesdays 6:15-7:30 pm

Fuel for Faith is for students in 2nd grade through 5th grade. The purpose of F3 is to provide an engaging space for children to listen to God’s story, learn about who God is, live in community, and love God and one another. Throughout the school year, kids in F3 will have opportunities to explore through science, create through art, and wonder through Bible storytelling.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sundays 10:45-11:30 am

Students in 6th grade through 8th grade study spiritual practices in the Reformed faith: worship, justice, prayer, stewardship, Bible reading, and missional living. Each student receives a journal to be used each week in Sunday school.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

YOUTH GROUP
Wednesdays 7:30-8:30 pm

Middle school youth group is a space for students in 6th grade through 8th grade to experience belonging and community—to learn who they are, who God is, and how to love God, their neighbors, and themselves. During the first half hour, students connect in their small groups to dive deeper into God’s story, and along with their small group leaders, students consider what that story means for their lives. The second half of the hour is a time of large group fun and connection.

HIGH SCHOOL

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sundays 10:45-11:30 am

High school students in 9th grade through 12th grade experience the Heidelberg Catechism by studying "HC and Me," a curriculum that takes them through the Q&As of the catechism as they pertain to students today. Students receive a copy of the Heidelberg Catechism to bring to class each week.

YOUTH GROUP
Sundays 6:30-8:00 pm

High School Youth Group is a chance for students in 9th grade through 12th grade to gather in an informal setting to talk about faith. Students have opportunities to form connections with each other and other members of the church and community and to explore questions about what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

LEAPS OF FAITH
Selected Sundays 4:40-5:40 pm

Leaps of Faith is a chance for students in 4th grade through 12th grade to engage in worship through liturgical dance. This creative ministry is student led and choreographed, with approximately 6-8 worship leadership opportunities throughout the year. For more information, please contact staff adviser Rosalyn De Koster at rosalynarcoc@gmail.com.

ADULT

DISCIPLESHIP
Sundays 10:45-11:30 am

The Know Ministry Team and the Adult Discipleship Team plan a variety of discipleship opportunities for ARC adults (post-high school and older). Through a broad spectrum of classes, Bible studies, and conversation groups, adults at ARC are invited to know God and to know each other in community. Most adult discipleship opportunities are offered after worship on Sundays from September through April.

LAUNCHED

Launched is a group of young adults who are passionate about learning and growing in faith, as well as serving God’s people. The group meets every other week at various locations for discussion, fellowship, service opportunities, and—of course—SNACKS! If you are interested in joining, please contact Elissa O’Dell in the ARC office (office@americanchurchoc.com or 712.737.4430).
